Luminal Collapse (2025)
100cm x 30cm
There is a particular kind of dusk when light doesn’t fade so much as fold - when the sky seems to buckle under its own weight, colour draining inward as the last of the day gives way. Luminal Collapse was painted in pursuit of that moment: the threshold between brilliance and darkness, where luminosity becomes something unstable, something on the verge. Acrylic and oil are layered across the panoramic canvas in sweeps and striations, each mark a record of light in the act of letting go.
The elongated format intensifies the sense of a world tipping - of a horizon held in suspension between what was and what comes next. This is a piece that changes with the light of the room it inhabits, shifting from smouldering warmth to cool quiet depending on the hour. It arrives ready to hang with all fixings attached and a certificate of authenticity. Free shipping across mainland UK; for international enquiries, please get in touch.
